Seeing the Gown on You: Why We Built a Virtual Try-On for Couture

We Just Launched Virtual Try-On at Sihëna - And It Changes How You Shop for Couture

Somewhere in the weeks ahead there is an evening that matters. You can already see it: the light in the room, the long table, the moment you arrive and the conversation turns, just slightly, toward the door.

And there is a gown. You have opened its page more times than you would say out loud, late, when the house is finally quiet. Each time, the same small question follows you back into your day. On me?

A photograph shows the gown beautifully, on its own. What it cannot show is the gown on you. That is the moment Virtual Try-On is for: the gown on your own photograph, at home, at whatever hour the thought finds you.

A try-on, made for couture

It is easy to imagine a try-on for a T-shirt, which is flat cotton. A couture gown is a feathered hem, a beaded bodice, tulle that holds its volume, a train that follows a step behind you.

We have written about what the word couture asks of a gown: that it is decided for one woman at a time. Choosing a couture gown online should not mean studying a photograph and hoping. We built our own Virtual Try-On for couture so that the woman you see the gown on is you. You will find it across the collection, part of the gown's page itself, with nothing to download.

One photograph, and the gown is on you

Open the gown you keep returning to. Perhaps it is Midnight Velvet Muse, deep navy velvet for the cooler evenings to come, its halter wrapped close, a side drape flowing as you move. Perhaps it is Venetian Crystal, a sheer column densely embroidered with old-world damask in silver crystal, its shoulders sculpted.

Tap Try it on to open Virtual Try-On and, after a short word on privacy, add a photograph of yourself: one you already have, or one you take with your camera, well lit and full length, from the crown of your head to your feet. Choose Generate Try-On, and usually within half a minute the gown is on you.

Something shifts in that moment. The gown stops being a picture of a dress you admire and starts to feel like yours: the colour beside your skin, the neckline framing your face, the line of it from shoulder to hem. Perhaps the navy you hesitated over is your colour after all. Perhaps the silver you thought would be too much is exactly your evening.

Try two or three, one after another, choosing the same photograph each time, so the only thing that changes is the gown. Add Rose Mirage, blush tulle with feathers cascading down its overskirt, and the choice tends to make itself.

Will it look like the photo on me?

It is the natural question about a dress you have only seen online, and Virtual Try-On is there to help you answer it. Instead of judging a gown by its own photographs, you see it on you, in your own photograph, before you decide. Think of it as a preview, not a fitting: it shows you the gown on you, and your measurements make it yours.

The result carries one short line: Made to your measurements. It is the quiet promise beneath everything you have just seen. Each Sihëna gown is cut for you alone, so the fit is the atelier's work, and it begins with your measurements.

This is where the question changes. It is no longer on me? It is when?

Private, and at your own hour

Take your time. Try it at midnight, in the quiet after a long day, and again with another photograph whenever you like. No one is waiting beyond the curtain.

Discretion is built into Virtual Try-On. Your photograph is sent securely for processing and is not stored once your image is made. The result is shown to you alone, and no personal data is shared with third parties.

When there is one opinion you want, share it. Save the image, or choose Share as link to send your sister or your closest friend a private link. The image is kept for seven days so the link works, then deleted. She sees what you see, wherever she is: you, in the gown, before anyone else does.

From the gown on you to the gown made for you

When one gown stays with you, the next step is already on the screen. Order it directly from the result, or choose Ask the atelier on WhatsApp, where a message is ready to send. A stylist replies to anything you would like to know first: a sleeve, a lining, the date of your evening.

After you order, you measure at home with a guided form of about fifteen fields, around fifteen minutes with a soft tape. Should you want company, a stylist on WhatsApp, at +971 54 700 7750, stays with you through each measurement. There is nothing to book and nowhere to travel.

From your confirmed measurements, the atelier makes your gown in two to three weeks. Delivery is complimentary, worldwide. If a fit error is ever ours, we put it right, quietly and at no cost. Each step of Made to Measure, from guided measuring at home to your door, is laid out on its own page.

Your evening, from here

A gown is finished only when it is worn. The evening is still weeks away. You can see yourself in the gown tonight.

Look through the evening gowns to see on yourself, open the one you keep returning to, and tap Try it on. When one looks as though it was always yours, order it, or ask the atelier on WhatsApp first. We will take it from there.
